Bomb explosion rocks Kwara community

By Oladele Ogunsola.

Barely 24 hours after a Church was invaded in a community in Kwara State by armed bandits and abducted some worshippers, a suspected bomb explosion has reportedly rocked Woro community, in Kaiama LGA of Kwara State, with many feared dead.

Although residents suspect the IED might have been detonated by Boko Haram terrorists, no group has claimed responsibility for the ugly and dastardly incident.

It would be recalled that at least 75 persons were killed and several houses set ablaze when suspected terrorists attacked Woro and Nuku communities in the same Kaiama LGA last month.

President Bola Tinubu ordered the deployment of an army battalion in the area following the attack then.

On Sunday, suspected bandits invaded ECWA Church in Omugo community in Ifelodun Local Government area of Kwara State and abducted seven worshippers out of which three were rescued by Joint Security operatives.

Official statement on the Monday incident is still being awaited either from the state government or the State Police Command as at the time of filing this report.
