An Abuja-based legal luminary, Bola Aidi, Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN), has commended Bola Ahmed Tinubu for nominating Taiwo Oyedele as Minister of State for Finance, describing the decision as a clear demonstration of merit, competence and visionary leadership.
In a congratulatory letter addressed to the ministerial designate, Aidi praised the President for once again exhibiting what he described as a keen eye for excellence by selecting another distinguished son of Akoko for a key national assignment.
According to the senior lawyer, the appointment represents a proud moment for the people of Akoko, noting that the region is already celebrating the impactful leadership of Bunmi Tunji-Ojo, whom he described as a “poster boy” of the current administration.
“While Akoko continues to celebrate the impactful leadership of Bunmi Tunji-Ojo, fondly called BTO, your appointment marks yet another proud moment for our people,” Aidi said.
He added that the emergence of two accomplished sons of Akoko in strategic federal positions within a short period signals a positive step toward re-energising Nigeria’s economy and strengthening governance delivery.
Aidi further noted that the development underscores the growing strategic relevance and national recognition of Ondo State in the country’s leadership architecture.
Addressing Oyedele directly, the legal luminary described the nomination as well deserved, citing his impressive professional record and contributions to fiscal reform.
“Your elevation to this critical national assignment is a clear testament to your sterling professional pedigree, integrity and long-standing commitment to fiscal reform and economic transformation,” he stated.
He expressed confidence that Oyedele’s experience in tax policy, public finance and institutional reform would bring innovation, discipline and strategic direction to Nigeria’s financial system at a crucial moment for the nation’s economy.
