The ongoing recruitment exercise of teachers in Osun State has received a boost with the approval of supplementary list to Batch 1 of the 2026 exercise by the governor of the state, Sen. Ademola Adeleke.
With the approval, the total number of successful applicants have been increased to 1,241 according to a statement issued on Sunday by the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Education in the state, M.A.K. Jimoh.
The development, according to Jimoh “raises the number of recruited candidates from the initial 1,000 to 1,241 with the aim of accommodating more qualified unemployed youths into the teaching profession and enhancing learning outcomes in public schools across the state”.
Giving the breakdown, the Permanent Secretary disclosed that 660 candidates were recruited under the State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB), 526 under the Teaching Service Commission (TESCOM) and 55 as Education Officers.
The statement directed successful candidates to check the published lists and proceed with the necessary profiling and documentation at SUBEB, TESCOM or the Civil Service Commission, depending on their category.
The government also congratulated the newly recruited teachers and urged them to contribute meaningfully to the development of the education sector, while maintaining professionalism to improve teaching standards and academic performance in schools across the state.
