Ondo State is set to take a decisive swipe at traffic violations with the establishment of mobile courts to ensure swift prosecution of offenders.
The State Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice, Dr. Kayode Ajulo (SAN), disclosed this in a statement issued Friday in Akure, noting that the initiative is designed to fast-track the adjudication of road traffic offences.
Ajulo explained that the mobile courts, to be constituted by the Chief Judge, are not meant to be instruments of punishment but tools for correction and deterrence.
\u201cThe courts will ensure that every violation is promptly addressed, protecting the gains of our development and safeguarding the lives of our people. The rule of law must ride alongside every vehicle on our beautifully rebuilt roads,\u201d he said.
The Attorney-General also hailed Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa for what he described as a sweeping transformation across the state, particularly the ongoing beautification of Akure, the capital city.
He praised the newly unveiled ultra-modern road intersections, describing them as engineering masterpieces now rivaling those in top cities around the world. He further commended the installation of modern traffic lights, noting that they not only regulate movement but also symbolize a forward-looking, progressive state.
According to Ajulo, Aiyedatiwa is not just building roads but crafting a legacy anchored on order, safety, and aesthetic excellence.
\u201cThese world-class intersections, enhanced by smart traffic systems that blend technology with artistry, have redefined Akure as a capital that inspires pride. This is development with soul\u2014where infrastructure meets elegance and safety aligns with sophistication,\u201d he said.
