Operatives of Nigeria\u2019s anti-graft agency, the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), on Tuesday staged a dramatic operation at the Abuja residence of former Attorney-General of the Federation, Abubakar Malami, sealing off the area and restricting all movement.
Eyewitnesses said the operatives stormed Koranakh Close, off Amazon Street, in multiple buses, swiftly taking control and barricading every access point.
\u201cThey came in large numbers and positioned themselves at every corner. Nobody was allowed in or out,\u201d a visibly shaken resident recounted.
Another witness described a near-total lockdown, as residents and visitors were turned back by the heavily deployed officials. \u201cThe whole street was practically under siege. Even people who live there struggled to gain entry,\u201d the source said.
